Two flicks make everyone cry at Fajr filmfest

It’s cries and tears during screenings of ‘In the Levant Time’ and ‘Istanbul Juncture’ at the 36th Fajr Film Festival in Tehran.

Tears ran down people’s cheeks as the two movies were publicly displayed.

‘In the Levant Time’, directed by Ebrahim Hatamikia, chronicles the story of an Iranian pilot who, along with his son as copilot, is seized by Daesh terrorists in Syria.

Present in the movie theater were the families of the martyrs of war against the US-backed terrorist group Daesh, in Iraq and Syria. The director had asked the crew to watch virtually all the existing videos on Daesh atrocities to get a second hand experience of how the brutalities actually felt, though the shot flick self-censors violence.

‘Istanbul Juncture’, directed by Mostafa Kiaee, depicts the real story of the tragic collapse of the high-rise landmark building Plasco in Tehran that shock the Iranian capital's people in January 2017, and killed several including brave firefighters.

People’s eyes were filled with tears during that screening too.

The two movies also made Journalists and media staff cry with the audience.

The 36th edition of the Fajr Film Festival is being held in venues across Iran since February 1, and will wrap up on February 11, 2018.
